После установки апдейта 2.0 на Lifedrive машинка стала работать нейстойчиво с перезагрузками. Я написал письмо в службу поддержки Palm и как ни странно их решение помогло. Машинка стала работать гораздо быстрее без тормозов и очень устойчиво. Спешу поделиться рецептом в том виде что получил:
Thank you for contacting Palm Technical Support. My name is Franz and I will be assisting you on your query that when you installed the LifeDrive™ update it reloads every HotSync® causing a looping on the handheld.
We are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you and are most appreciative of your cooperation and understanding in this matter. To resolve the issue you need to perform a Quick Erase on the handheld to restore it to its original settings, and then rename the backup folder to prevent the reinstallation of the update, after renaming the backup folder change the conduit settings to restore your data. Before you perform these steps you need to backup your user folder to ensure no data will be lost.
To create a backup copy of your current handheld information on the computer, do the following.
Double-click 'My Computer' on the Microsoft® Windows® Desktop and open the C: Drive.
Open the 'Palm' or 'Pilot' folder.
Note: If you have a newly installed copy of Palm Desktop 4.1, the Palm folder is located under C:\Program Files.
Right-click the User folder and select Copy.
Note: The User folder is a truncated version of your User name.
Minimize the current open windows.
Right-click an empty location of your Windows Desktop and select Paste.
You should now see a backup copy of your User folder on the desktop. If you do not see a backup, please repeat steps one through five until the backup is visible. If you have more than one handheld user synchronizing their information using the same computer, repeat steps one through five for each user.
When you have completed the steps above perform a Quick/Secure Erase as follows:
Note: If you use a password to protect your device, you must do a Secure Erase when you hard reset your device; the Quick Erase option does not appear on the reset screen.
1. Slide the power switch to the right and hold it in that position.
2. While holding the switch to the right, use the tip of the stylus (or a similar object without a sharp tip) to gently press and release the reset button on the bottom of your device.
3. Wait for the reset screen to appear, and then release the power switch.
4. On the reset screen, press Up to perform a Quick Erase, or Down to perform a Secure Erase.
5. During the reset process, a status screen appears with the words "Quick Erase" or "Secure Erase" and a progress bar, followed by screens showing the Palm, Palm Powered and LifeDrive logos.
6. Then you will be prompted to tap the screen to align the digitizer and select the language you want to use on your device. A screen appears showing the Palm logo and a progress bar.
7. When the "Welcome: Setup your device" screen appears, the hard reset is complete. Follow the onscreen instructions to set up your device.
Now rename the Backup folder as follows:
Double-click the My Computer icon on your Windows desktop.
Open the C: Drive, followed by the Palm or Pilot folder.
Note: If you have a newly installed copy of Palm Desktop 4.1, the Palm folder is located under C:\Program Files.
Double-click your User Folder (The User folder will be a truncated version of your User name) and locate the Backup Folder.
Right-click the Backup Folder and select Rename.
Type 'Backup2' and hit Enter.
Change Conduit Actions to ‘Desktop overwrites handheld’ and perform a HotSync operation as follows:
Click the HotSync Manager icon in the lower-right corner of your computer screen and select Custom.
Highlight the conduit for Contact; click Change.
Select 'Desktop overwrites handheld' for the action and click OK.
Repeat steps two and three for the Calendar, Tasks, and Memo.
When the conduits are changed, click done.
Perform a HotSync operation to transfer the data onto the handheld.
Once the above steps are complete, you should have the data back on your handheld. Any additional programs will not be installed, and you will need to reinstall them. To install any additional applications onto the handheld, install them one at a time from their original source.

Ну дык сделать ХР после глобального обновления прошивки сам бог велел.
Реалист [19.12.2005 16:24] Проблема Update 2.0:
Дело в том что в ходе апдейта хард ресет происходит помимо желания устанавливающего. Вся изюмина в том что происходит он криво и требуется переустановить многие программы по новой. Особенный глюг это Piloc с использованием доп. шрифтов- он вгоняет аппарат в циклический ресет. Papirus не столькомфортен но работает надежней.
